Marketing and Communications Committee
Mission Statement
The purpose of the sub-committee is to provide the incoming Executive Board chairs of the Section with the opportunity to interact with each other before their year of service as chairs, to receive training from the current Executive Board chairs regarding responsibilities of the chairs, and to use the talents and abilities of the incoming chairs to market the Section and to communicate with the membership and the public consistent with the objectives of the current Executive Board chairs and the agenda of the current Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
The sub-committee responsibilities involve the following:

maintain, update and revise the Section's website in communication with the Philadelphia Bar Association employee responsible for the website and with approval of the current Executive Board chairs of the Section.

the Judge representative should draft instructional communications regarding issues of concern to the Judges (at least quarterly), to be disseminated by the current chairs through the Section listserv. (These communications currently require pre-approval of the Director of the Workers' Compensation Office of Adjudication and notice to the Judge Manager.)

maintain a list of Section members willing to function as photographers at Section events and coordinate and schedule the use of these photographers with approval of the current Executive Board chairs of the Section.

maintain a list of Section members willing to function as writers for the Philadelphia Bar Reporter, Legal Intelligencer, and Philadelphia Lawyer. Propose ideas for articles or communications regarding the Section. Solicit, coordinate and schedule the use of writers for these communications with approval of the current Executive Board chairs of the Section.

in conjunction with the current Executive Board chairs of the Section, assist with the drafting and/or revision of any communications of the Section.

in conjunction with the current Executive Board chairs of the Section, discuss, propose, and implement any marketing ideas beneficial to the Section.

provide assistance to other sub-committees, when requested, referable to marketing and communication activities of the sub-committees of the Section.
Members
The sub-committee shall be chaired by the three (3) incoming chairs of the Section. The term of service shall be the year that the individuals are the incoming chairs. Other members of this sub-committee shall consist of photographers, writers, and other individuals chosen by the chairs of the sub-committee to assist in the sub-committee objectives of communication and marketing.
The incoming chairs will decide on the distribution of responsibilities if this subcommittee.
Communication
The mode of communication and voting for this sub-committee shall be via e-mail or telephonically.
Meetings
The sub-committee shall meet as much or as little as deemed necessary to effectuate the purpose of the sub-committee. The executive board meeting will be attended by all incoming chairs. However, one individual should be designated as the spokesperson on behalf of the sub-committee at each meeting.
Designation of Marketing Activities and Written Publications
Marketing Activities and Written Publication ideas will be determined by a two thirds (2/3rds) majority vote of the sub-committee chairs.
The sub-committee will then present the marketing activities and/or written publication ideas to the full Executive Board for discussion and then approval by the voting members of the Executive Board
