An Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Colleague,

We at the Philadelphia Bar Association are aware of the ongoing concerns related to the COVID-19 and are committed to maintaining the health and safety of our members and employees. We continue to monitor the recommendations and emergency response efforts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Philadelphia Department of Health and are prepared to alter our policies and procedures if necessary.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our members and employees, we are implementing the following changes to our meetings, events, and CLE programs:

Effective Monday, March 16, all Bar Association Committee, Division, and Section in-person meetings will be suspended until Tuesday, April 14th. Meetings will be held via conference call. Our Meetings Department will be in touch with the chair of each meeting that has been scheduled and will circulate the telephone call-in number and passcodes.

If you have previously registered and paid for an in-person meeting, your payment will be refunded.

Continuing Legal Education Seminars and Skills Trainings

In order to ensure that our members have access to CLE seminars to enable them to meet their April 30th requirements, we will continue to offer both in-person and on-line CLEs. In-person CLE registration will be limited to 35 attendees. If we must cancel a CLE, members will receive a full refund of their registration fees.

Social Events:

It is with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of this year's Spring Quarterly Meeting scheduled for March 25. This traditional event was scheduled to honor Shelli Fedullo, our Immediate Past-Chancellor, for her extraordinary leadership in 2019 and to enjoy one another's company.

We hope to reschedule this event later this year. Of course, any registration fees paid will be refunded in full.

All other social events are suspended until April 14 and will be rescheduled later, if feasible.

For your protection

Please follow the prevention recommendations set forth by the CDC, including not attending events and meetings when you are ill or do not feel well. We encourage you to evaluate your own health situation when making the decision whether to attend events and/or meetings and to consult medical professionals when appropriate.

In closing, we are committed to serving our membership and our community during these difficult times. If you have any ideas or suggestions to assist us in this ongoing commitment, please email me at As always, thank you for your continued support.

All of us here at the Philadelphia Bar Association wish you and your loved ones continued good health. Be safe; we hope to see you soon.
