Join the Student Hurricane Network and the Pro Bono Project to Rebuild the Gulf CoastThe Student Hurricane Network was established immediately after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In order to deliver more effective volunteer legal services, SHN has begun a new initiative in which legal organizations in the Gulf Coast are partnered with legal communities in different regions across the nation. Philadelphia has been targeted to join forces with The Pro Bono Project, a non-profit organization in New Orleans that provides free, quality civil legal services to the indigent.
With the help of lawyers and students in the Philadelphia area, all of TPBPs organizational needs can be met. Join TPBP Volunteer Coordinator Sandie McCarthy Brown, Cornell Law Student Andy Cowan and Temple University Professor of Law Bill Woodward at noon on Wednesday, June 27th in the Bar Association Conference Center to learn more about participating in the rebuilding effort.
