Philadelphia Bar Foundation Names New Executive Director
The Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation is pleased to announce that Gene Sirni has been hired as its new Executive Director. The Philadelphia Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Philadelphia Bar Association and is responsible for raising funds to support a grants program that provides funding to more than 30 public interest legal organizations in Philadelphia.
Mr. Sirni comes to the Foundation with more than 25 years of nonprofit and fundraising experience. A graduate of Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, he spent 19 years with United Way of Wyoming Valley, ending his tenure there as Director of Resource Development. After three years with the Onandaga Community College Foundation as its Executive Director and Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Sirni has, for the last seven years, been the Vice President for Advancement and Communications at the Heritage Conservancy in Doylestown.
Gene Sirni has extensive experience in cultivating the donor community, successfully spearheading major gifts and planned giving programs. "Gene is uniquely qualified to implement the Bar Foundation's strategic plan currently under development and to take the Foundation to even greater heights in its fundraising efforts," said Elaine Rinaldi, President of the Foundation. "We are pleased to have Gene Sirni on board and are confident that Gene will enable us to achieve the many strategic initiatives we have on our plate. His experience on the fundraising front will be critical to successfully more than doubling our endowment and making it a significant, stable and consistent source of funding for our legal service community."
